Mobidec

Ottoman
Product by Ligne Roset

A footstool specially designed by Pierre Charpin for the "MobiBoom" exhibition at the Musee des Arts Decoratifs, which was dedicated to the explosion of French design between 1945 and 1975. Quite evidently the design of this footstool borrows from the equestrian world - which, is renowned as a guardian of artisanal tradition. Resembling a slightly truncated pommel horse, the seat rests on a metal base which lifts it from the ground, the design of which is reminiscent of stirrups. A fabric strap, matching the footstool, encircles the seat, fixed to these "stirrups", and serves as a handle to enable Mobidec to be lifted and moved with ease.
